Our Troy Clinic utilizes a holistic treatment approach, which considers the “whole” person when developing individualized therapy and job training plans, such as: salience, personal goals, fine and gross motor skills, emotional well-being, cognitive abilities, social pragmatics, etc. Troy’s job training focuses on artistic, creative and retail tasks, which are used as mediums to promote transferrable executive functioning skills necessary for competitive and community employment. In addition, our community and work reintegration program is firmly rooted in the use of proven, evidence-based therapeutic practices of promoting both structural and functional neuroplasticity, such as relevance, repetition, engagement and consistency.

Our Troy location is organized by several different departments that work collaboratively to achieve a shared goal of producing salable art for custom orders, community partners, and our Etsy site. Our CBIS-trained staff and therapists expertly assign and assist clients with working on tasks that are deemed the “Just Right Challenge,” which simultaneously promotes confidence, strengthens existing abilities, and encourages skill growth. • Woodworking: Small-to-large wood working projects including designing, measuring, cutting and sanding various wood projects
• Artistic: Variety of art mediums used
• Textiles: A wide production of jewelry, sewing, and everything in between
• Finishing: Combination of art, finishing/hardware, and quality control tasks
• Tech Lab: Computer and technology-based work and projects
• Innovative: Retail, inventory, and product processing tasks
• Kitchen: Baking/meal preparation, candle creation, community lunch program, cleaning and organizational tasks
