Vocational Advising Services
Therapeutic Rehabilitation Centers would like to highlight our Vocational Advising services with over two decades of field experience. Our Vocational Advisor will provide guidance about the most appropriate career choices, employment possibilities with training and further education, and community-based opportunities for our clients. The main objective is to improve job placement outcomes and realistic long-term success, based on realistic marketplace choices.
The Vocational Advisor provides advisement and guidance services to clients who need support in making choices that will affect their working lives, post injury. Within Therapeutic Rehab Centers, our Vocational Advisor focuses on nationally recognized job assessment traits, essential work skills to guide further skill development, current job placement possibilities and necessary individualized job site accommodations, with Rehabilitation team and Voc Counselor assistance as needed.
Our Vocational Advisor can provide the following services:
- Evaluate client abilities, interests, experience, and job-training possibilities
- Provide results of interest and aptitude testing to client & rehab team
- Provide opportunity for one-time therapeutic discussion regarding clients’ perceived barriers for return to competitive employment
- Develop a Voc Rehab Plan with team collaboration
- Attend meetings to update client, family and rehab team regarding job skills and realistic goals
- Identify community supports to assist with transportation and job transition
- Provide resources for developing skills (Math, Reading and other learning skills) to promote and improve work readiness
- Provide essential work skill training in areas such as customer service and problem solving
- Research high school equivalency programs, including current GED preparation and testing
- Research trade schools, community college and other college programs as needed to support client work goals for long-term success with educational/certificate support
- Work-Keys curriculum training, in collaboration with rehab team to promote achievement of National Career Readiness Certificate (to identify potential future employment options)
- Prepare clients for transition to a Vocational Counselor for job placement opportunities when they reach optimal job readiness
