Livonia

Our Livonia Clinic offers vocational job training opportunities that allow our clients to learn, train, grow and further recover from their traumatic injuries, by participating in supported work within our job training site and community-based settings. Meaningful job tasks are generated by our microbusiness TRCustomized, which offers clients opportunities to complete actual work orders for customers.  Our clients receive vocational training to promote necessary skill building and work skills development, based on their individual needs and realistic recovery goals. We provide initial Job Training Evaluations and Work Profiles to guide realistic vocational paths, as well as to facilitate long-term job success. All staff are Certified Brain Injury Specialists (CBIS).

In addition to our job training services, Livonia offers a variety of individual therapies, including cognitive-speech-language, occupational, and physical therapies, as well as cognitive-learning sessions for clients currently in school or hoping to return to school.  Often before a client is ready to focus on returning to work, they receive individual occupational and physical therapies to work on improving ADL’s, IADL’s, fine motor strength and coordination, mobility, range of motion and overall strength and endurance. Additionally, individual cognitive-language and/or speech therapy can help clients improve their speech and communication skills, including important interpersonal and social pragmatic skills needed for return to work. Cognition is also an essential component of both occupational and cognitive-language therapies, as improving attention, memory and information processing are also important for work success. Peer sessions are also offered with a focus on cognition, communication, and physical skills. Please see below for a list of work training departments offered in Livonia.
